I believe the original Albertville outlet mall was constructed some time in the mid-1990s. Expansion came only a few years later, and today it’s a sizeable chunk of stores.

Yeah, I pretty much go there for Children’s Place and Stride Rite outlets. SR prices are at least 30% less than in regular stores. When you’re buying kids shoes, it seems more reasonable to pay 25-29 dollars for them instead of 45+.
And CP’s sales are phenomenal. I shop ahead and outfit my daughter from head-to-toe for a fraction of what it would cost at the regular CP. I also hit the Levis store and sometimes Guess as well.

I refuse to go here unless I can buy a hammer. This is a simple measure of where to drag a man to go shopping. Once upon a time there was a ‘Black and Decker’ store here where we menfolk could hide out. But after a few minutes we would become very irritated and bored at the limited selection. And even this sole refuge has disappeared.

Ladies- please remember that men do not ‘shop’, they ‘purchase’. We know what they are looking for and then begin actually looking for it upon arrival. We are hunters, we can ignore distracting shiny things and bright colors.
None of that hair twirling, “hmmm I wonder if this makes my butt”…stuff for us. Not today, thank you very kindly, Mam.

I LOVE Albertville Outlet! This blog is too funny tho. Space Aliens is also a super cool place to bring the kids. Good food, good prices and a full bar!

The Childrens Place is WELL worth the drive. I have never paid over $5.00 for anything there (and my kids look GOOD)… (winter coats, boots, shoes, jeans) The merchandise is about 3 months behind the “mall”stores and goes down in price fast! If you can buy ahead, you will only pay a fraction of the original price for you childrens clotheing by shopping at The Childrens Place.

LOL, yeah Coldwater Creek is pretty bad. My mom is 57, and she’d never shop there. And I hope when she’s 80, she STILL doesn’t shop there!

Space Aliens is actually a chain that started in, I think, Fargo. I used to frequent the St. Cloud one when I lived there and, for what it’s worth, their ribs and pizza are fantastic.

I don’t hit many of the shops you wrote about but I do love Coach. Way too much actually.

But please….you say only 60 year olds would shop at Coldwater Creek. I’m nearly 61 and I think only 80 year olds would want that patterned stuff.

We have these premium outlets here in California, too, and I don’t shop at them. I see the merchandise as low end, marked too high, and then put on “sale.” But it’s all a marketing trick. I should know, I teach these tricks.
